Good Works

Gateway Animal Hospital believes in the significance of supporting both our local community and the veterinary community. We do this through various methods and actions. A few are listed below.

Military & Law Enforcement Discount

All military and law enforcement receive a 25% discount on goods and services for all personal pets (ID required).

K9 Officers

Receive 100% free services through our hospital. Special appointments can be made to come in during our surgical hours so that K9 officers do not have to interact with general pets or populace.

Adoption Assistance

Our caring staff helps to find homes for unwanted pets. We take in many animals each year and help find them forever homes. We also help promote the adoption efforts of organizations in our area through our social media and through discounted services. Check out our Adoption Page!

Low Cost Spay/Neuter Cat Clinic

Once monthly we offer a low cost spay/neuter clinic for cats at least 12 weeks of age at each of our hospitals. This is a great opportunity to help with the overabundance of cats in the community, and many of our clients will utilize it to deal with cat colonies or barn cats. All cats must be up to date on rabies vaccine OR it is mandatory that they receive vaccination the day of surgery ($12.24). Male cat castrations are $25 and female cat spays are $35, with extra charges if the females are in heat or pregnant. All cats will receive a capstar ($7.52) for flea control at intake. Many other services are available for vaccinations, medications and flea control options to go home.

Low Cost Vaccine Clinics

On occasion we partner with Rural King or TSC to provide low cost vaccine clinics for community members.

Veterinary/Pre-Veterinary Student Shadowing & Externing

Many of our employees are interested in becoming veterinarians and we do our best to host students who are interested in the profession, whether they are just in the beginning stages of figuring it out or are already set on the path. Our veterinarians love mentoring interested students!
